Karigar hand-embroidering zari on silk

Since 2009

A house built around one morning ritual

Krishna Aura began in a Varanasi lane where three generations of one family had woven silk for temples but never for the small murtis kept in people's homes. Our founder asked them a simple question: could the same loom dress a four-inch Laddu Gopal? The first poshak took nine days.

Fifteen years later we work with fourteen karigar families — weavers and zari embroiderers in Varanasi, poshak tailors in Vrindavan, brass and ashtadhatu casters in Moradabad, and a silversmith in Jaipur who makes our mukut and bansuri. We pay by the piece, never by the hour, and we name the maker on every order slip.

Nothing here is machine-embroidered. Nothing is bulk-cut. Every set is finished by hand, folded in unbleached muslin, and offered before it is packed.
